HOW A NONYM
WORKS
Three forces shape every token: the seed it is born with, what the market does to it, and what you choose to do to it. Nothing here lives on a server — every rule below is a function in a contract you can read.
BIRTH
What you get when you mint
When you mint, the contract rolls a 96-bit number and writes it into storage forever. That number decides four things — your race, your hat, your mask and your suit. Nobody, including us, can change them afterwards.
- RACE
- HUMANOID
- HAT
- HELMET
- MASK
- FANGS
- SUIT
- HOODIE
Traits are weighted, not uniform. HUMAN lands on one token in five; FACELESS, ANGEL and DEVIL are the hardest pulls in the race slot. Here is the full spread — the shorter the bar, the rarer the trait.

MOTION
The market ages your piece
Every time a token changes hands on the secondary market — an OpenSea sale, a bid taken, a plain wallet-to-wallet transfer — the contract counts it. At four thresholds the palette shifts and the face changes.
| STATE | TRANSFERS | WHAT CHANGES |
|---|---|---|
| NORMAL | 0 | Soft black on soft grey. Calm eyes, flat mouth. |
| TOUCHED | 1+ | Cooler grey. The eyes open. |
| WORN | 10+ | Green-grey. The face strains. |
| MARKED | 20+ | Violet-grey. The eyes go hollow. |
| ASCENDED | 50+ | Inverted — light on black. The mouth becomes a void. |
This is the part nobody controls. A quiet token stays quiet. A heavily-traded one becomes visibly heavily-traded, and its history is legible in the artwork itself rather than buried in a transaction list.
↳ Minting does not count — a fresh token starts at zero. Only real transfers between wallets increment the counter.
GRADE
How rare your token is
Every token carries a rarity score — the four trait weights added together. The rarer each piece, the higher the number. That score falls into one of five grades, and both of them ship inside the metadata so marketplaces can sort by it.
Here is the part that matters: the grade is never stored. It is recalculated from your token's current traits every time anyone reads it. Change a trait and the grade changes with it — which is exactly what the next section is for.
↳ Grade is independent of STATE. A COMMON token can be ASCENDED, and a LEGENDARY one can still be sitting at zero transfers. They measure different things: what you were born with versus what the market did to you.
IMPRINT
You are the second artist
MOTION happens to you. IMPRINT is the one you choose. If you hold two A NONYM, you can graft a single trait from one onto the other, permanently.
| RULE | VALUE |
|---|---|
| What moves | One slot: race, hat, mask or suit |
| What it costs | 250 $ANON, burned — gone from supply forever |
| The donor | Keeps its own trait. Nothing is destroyed |
| Cooldown | 24 hours per target token |
| Ceiling | 8 grafts per token, ever |
| The record | GRAFTS counter in the metadata — the artwork stays clean |
| The effect | Grade recalculates immediately. A graft can promote a token |
This turns the floor into an organ market. A cheap token carrying one rare trait is worth more as a donor than as a token. And because grade is recomputed rather than stored, a patient collector can build a LEGENDARY out of four cheap donors — the only cost is $ANON and time.
↳ Grafting leaves no mark on the pixels. The only record is the GRAFTS number in the metadata, so an edited token is never visually damaged — it just reads differently.
↳ Every graft permanently shrinks the $ANON supply. Naming burns too, and ASCEND burns whole tokens — nothing in the system mints any of it back.
RITUALS
Lineage, ascend, naming
Three smaller mechanics. Each one costs something real and none of it comes back.
| RITUAL | COST | WHAT IT DOES |
|---|---|---|
| LINEAGE | Free — it just happens | A donor remembers every graft it produced |
| ASCEND | 2 tokens, burned | Pushes a third token up one grade |
| NAME | 100 $ANON, burned | Writes a unique 16-character name onto a token |
LINEAGE turns a used donor into a record instead of a husk. Ten grafts makes it a PROGENITOR, fifty makes it an ANCESTOR, and the count sits in the metadata for anyone to read. A token that shaped a dozen others has a history no fresh mint can buy.
ASCEND burns two tokens you own to promote a third by one grade. This is the only mechanic that reduces the collection itself — those two tokens are gone. Capped at one bought grade per token, so it can never be farmed into a wall of LEGENDARY.
↳ Marketplaces cache metadata. After naming, hit Refresh metadata on the item page to see the new title — that is their cache, not the chain.
STAKING
Hold it, earn ANON
Stake an A NONYM and it earns $ANON every day. The rate follows the token's rarity grade, so a LEGENDARY earns three times what a COMMON does — and because ASCEND promotes a grade, promoting a token also raises what it earns.
| GRADE | MULTIPLIER | AT 1 ANON/DAY BASE |
|---|---|---|
| COMMON | 1.0x | 1.00 ANON |
| UNCOMMON | 1.25x | 1.25 ANON |
| RARE | 1.6x | 1.60 ANON |
| EPIC | 2.2x | 2.20 ANON |
| LEGENDARY | 3.0x | 3.00 ANON |
Your token never leaves your wallet. Nothing is locked or transferred — the contract only records that it is earning. So your art never ages from staking, and you keep your place on the ETH rewards leaderboard.
REWARDS
ETH pushed to the top holders
Holders are paid in real ether, never in $ANON — nothing is minted to pay you. The pool is topped up by hand, and its balance is public at every moment.
Sealed while the mint is live. Sell-out unlocks it, then the team opens the first round — once, and it can never be closed again. After that the pool pays the ten largest holders in proportion to what they hold, straight to their wallets. You never sign anything.

$ANON
What the token is for
Every NFT minted emits 100 $ANON to the minter — the only way the emission bucket ever releases a token. Spend them on the imprint ritual, on naming, or hold them. Staking pays them out too.
Hard cap 1,700,000, enforced inside the transfer function itself. Staking's share came out of liquidity, not out of a raised cap. The zero next to TEAM is not a promise in a document — AnonToken.sol has no code that could mint outside those three buckets.
↳ Supply only ever goes down after that. Each imprint burns 250 $ANON and nothing mints it back.
FAQ
The awkward questions
▸When do rewards actually start?
Two things have to happen: the collection sells out, then the team opens the first round. Opening is one-way — after that rounds cannot be closed again, only paused in an emergency. You can check roundsOpened on the vault at any time.
▸Could the team drain the pool in one go?
No. A round is capped at 0.2 ETH and cannot run more than once every 24 hours. Both limits are constants in the contract, not settings.
▸Do I need to claim anything, ever?
No. Rewards are pushed to your wallet. The only thing you ever sign is a mint, a transfer, or an imprint if you want one.
▸I listed my token. Did I lose my rewards?
Only for as long as the listing stands. The vault skips wallets with an open marketplace approval; revoke it and you are eligible again on the next round. Nothing is lost permanently.
▸Why did my art change without me doing anything?
Someone transferred it, or you did. Every secondary transfer moves the counter, and at 1, 10, 20 and 50 the palette and face change. Your four base traits are untouched.
▸Can the team change the art later?
Until lockRenderer() is called, yes — that escape hatch exists so a rendering bug can be fixed. Once it is called it is permanent and the art is frozen forever. You can check its state on the contract at any time.
▸If I burn two tokens to ascend, does the mint reopen?
No. The sell-out check reads how many were ever minted, which only goes up. Burning lowers the circulating supply without ever letting anyone mint again.
▸Someone took the name I wanted.
Names are first come, first served and unique collection-wide. If the holder renames their token, the old name is released and you can take it.
▸Does being a PROGENITOR change my art?
No. Lineage is a metadata rank only. Nothing about the pixels changes when you lend your traits out.
▸Does grafting damage the artwork?
No. Earlier builds drew a seam on the frame for each graft; that is gone. A graft is recorded only in the metadata, as the trait it changed and a GRAFTS counter.
▸Can grafting make my token worse?
Yes, if you graft a common trait over a rare one. The panel shows the grade before and after before you sign, so you always see it coming.
▸Does a grafted token still evolve with transfers?
Completely unaffected. MOTION counts transfers, IMPRINT changes traits — they are two separate numbers on the token. A grafted token still reaches ASCENDED at fifty transfers.
▸What happens to my imprint if I sell the token?
It travels with the token. Grafted traits and seams are stored per token, not per wallet.
▸Can I list on OpenSea while my token is staked?
Yes. Listing does not stop staking — the contract checks who owns the token, not who is approved to move it, so it keeps earning right up until the sale settles. Note this is not the ETH rewards rule: there, an active listing skips you from the round immediately. When the sale does settle, the stake ends and any unclaimed ANON on that token is forfeited, so claim before you sell.
▸If I buy on the secondary market, do I get the 100 ANON too?
No — the 100 ANON is a one-time reward paid to whoever minted the token, and it is an ordinary ERC-20 in their wallet from that moment. It does not travel with the NFT, and it deliberately never will: the minter may have burned it on an imprint or a name, and a rule that forced it to move would leave those tokens permanently unsellable. Staking is how a secondary buyer earns ANON — and it keeps paying for as long as you hold, rather than once at mint.
▸Does staking lock my NFT up?
No. Nothing is transferred and nothing is locked — the contract only records that your token is earning. You can move or sell it at any moment. If you do, it stops earning and any unclaimed yield on it is lost, so claim first.
▸Does staking print new ANON?
No. Staking has a fixed 200,000 share of the 1,700,000 cap, taken out of the liquidity allocation rather than added on top. The contract itself cannot mint. An empty pool means nothing to claim, which is why the balance is shown in the panel.
▸Do I have to claim every day?
No. It accrues per second and never expires. Claim whenever suits you. If you leave it a full day, the keeper pushes it to your wallet for you.
▸How many can I mint?
Twenty per wallet at 0.0003 ETH each — a lifetime total, split across as many transactions as you like. Sending tokens away does not give you a fresh allowance.
▸My wallet is a contract and the payout did not arrive.
Some contract wallets reject plain ETH transfers. When that happens the amount is recorded against your address and you can pull it with withdrawOwed(). The round is never blocked for anyone else.
▸Where does the reward ETH come from?
A wallet the team funds by hand. Nothing routes into the vault automatically — you can watch the pool balance on-chain and see every top-up as a plain transfer.
Every number on this page is read from the same contracts the site talks to. If a rule here disagrees with the contract, the contract wins — go read it.
